Amber & Myself.
Here's one on the Batam weekend I had with the office teammates last week!
So we had this trip because we spotted a great deal at bigdeal.sg.
The deal cost SGD $96 net for a 2D1N trip to batam, and staying in a 5 star hotel (as what they stated in the deal). Not wanting to pin Grace's (my colleague) hopes too high,
I told her that perhaps Batam's 5 star is equivalent to SG's 3 star, oops. It was a rather funny moment to see adorable Grace and her shocked reaction instantly when i quoted 3 star! Geez
We met up at early as 8am in the morning at Harbourfront shopping centre, and here's a shot of some of the girls!
The girls in my team, missing Shruti & May, (the mother to be and the mother)
Awaiting to board the Ferry.
We sat Penguin Ferry, which was pretty alright as well.
I visited Batam once before, and sat Batam Fast. Both penguin and batam fast are comparable in my opinion.
Here's Maria, Grace & Hweeling.
And two of the guys in my team, Zhen Yang, Mark. And that's Tsai Feng at the end.
Andrew De berg who's from the States, in the New York's Team, who constantly refused to take a snap shot.
It didn't take more than an hour when we reached Batam's customs.
Long queue…
So back to the good deal we had, SGD 96 comprised of:
1. One night stay at the 5 star hotel – planet holiday
2. One hotel buffet
3. The return ferry trip
4. 90 minutes massage
5. A citytour in Batam (We only know what was this all about exactly when we reached there)
So a tour guide actually picked us up at the Batam terminal, and gathered us together with other tripmates to onboard a tour bus.
I didn't think there was really a need to go touring at Batam, because the main focus would be the beaches and sea sports.
We all felt kinda cheated, cuz we thought we will be sent to the hotel immediately, but NO…
Unknowingly, we have all signed up for a day's tour and for the whole morning at Batam, we failed to escape and went visiting at Touristic spots.
Eg, Raph Lauren Boutiques and more boutiques, Cultural show, bird nest shops etc..
Finally, lunch came, and I bet all tourists will visit this place for lunch.
The Golden Prawn 933.
Food time!

One of the bosses, Terence.
Playing soccer with tissues, that was how BORED we were.
Take turns!
Hwee ling, being the always so considerate teammate!
Food was pretty satisfying, surprisingly.
We had crabs, prawns, fish, vegs, clams etc.
We had a lil sea creatures tour before heading back to the bus. Grace & Mark.
With myself
And the funloving colleagues!
Amber, Calista (from the NY's team) and Terence.
The 3 guys in my team, missing the big boss, Chris Stark.
The next destination was still touring around Batam, and I realised they constantly promote the Raph Lauren boutiques there.
We were kinda skeptical about the authenticity, hence, the lack of interest in shopping.
Last but not least, this was the last stop – The shopping centre, before we headed off for Massage.
The tour guide gave us almost 3 hours to spend at the shopping Mall, so the guys chose the easiest way to kill time- The Arcade,
while the girls went for FULL classic Manicure and Pedicure! Hehehehe. Pampering Time.
We made the shop crowded!!
And to use OPI for this particular shop, you need to top up 10,000 Rupia, about SGD $1.50.
Amber, who is craving for Gel extensions. Will blog more about this later!
Grace joined in for manicure too.
Hwee ling and Calista with their pedicure first.
I was extremely excited for Hweeling who was doing her pedicure for the first time.
I remembered i had my first pedicure last year and I felt super pampered after that, and got addicted after! Heh.

Will be back for part 2 of Batam soon again!
