If you have seen Love, Bonito site recently, i bet you have seen the cover that we did!
Heh, I had a bit of fun doing amusing stuns with the flowy pink cardi in front of nicole & vel the previous time trying to get the shot(s) we wanted,
and boy, there was almost a half hour of repeat turning and flipping!
But well, we had a great deal of entertainment and laughter especially while we were trying to get the hair flying by literally using cardboards to fan. Heh.
Kudos to the great effort of the LB team!
Just sharing my two cents worth, like how the eyes are the most important feature of the face etc,
i always reckon that the hairstyle is ranked second most important to the facial skin of a person.
Looking at some old pictures of myself and my friends and compared them with the current ones,
have you ever looked at them and went, " how did i ever think that i actually looked ok (and that my hair was absolutely ok, i like it) at that time?!"
I suppose now that we look in the mirror, some of us would most probably think that – yeah it's cool and good,
but maybe, in a few years time we go like – what?!
So my point is, hair hair hair, essential . Even just the length of the fringe could completely change the image i feel.
How i wished i have more guts to do some extreme changes to the hair,
but well, for now i shall try all sorts of funny pretty stuff i can do with the hair without chopping it since I've grew it for the longest time to get it back long,
so why not?
Since the beauty of having long hair is that we can try multiple hairstyles!!
LB now has a professional makeup artist/stylist to do our makeup/hair prior to the shoot,
and yay!! No doubts that I usually make it a point to go out after the shoot because i would want to make full use of the make up!
Don't lie, i know you feel that same way too when you go for makeovers/shoots! :p
I have already consulted the makeup artist gazillion times on what products are good,
but perhaps psychologically, i just feel that her make up lasts on my face whereas it doesn't when i do it myself. hmmmmm
let me go steal more tips (hopefully muahaha) and share it with you girls here. :p
So i decided to grow my fringe longgggggg.
Vel said she prefers my bangs, while rach likes it swept to the side.
Many a time, i wanted to just chop it off back to bangs, especially the time when the fringe just ended at a uber uncomfortable and inappropriate length (yes the midst of growing!!).
Bear with it, bear with it, bear with it…..
so pretty good, it's near to my chin now, teehee, let me explore what other hairstyles can i come out with..

Back to the topic, so since hair is important to the face/style/image,
i actually feel that it does give slimming effects to the person especially the face!!
In my opinion, full uber straight bangs is a NO-NO.
I feel that thought it shortens the length of the face, but it widens it with the straight cut.
After doing some research and of course through some experiences,
the key word to slimmer appearance is UPDO hairstyles!!
Updo hairstyles refer to examples like ballerina buns, chic chignons, french twist upds, twisted braided updos, beehives, bouffant hair bumps.
It is said that these updo styles are ideal when you are trying to make your face slimmer because these styles add weight at the crown of your head,
and that will draw the attention from the features you are not so proud of, as well as elongating the face, causing an overall slimming effect.
And the additional note for this is, AVOID FULL BANGS!!! – it will enhance the roundness of the face!
Additionally, here's are some top choices of hairstyles that can create slimming effect!
1. High ponytail hairstyles or puffed up buns
- it was mentioned that high ponytails / puffed up buns will create the ability to flaunt off beautifully sculpted cheekbones and add height at the top of the head.
2. French twist, french braids
- what more can i say, its an updo hairstyle!
My mom used to tie this braids for me,
and when i was young back then, i went like "mommy, please tie those stick-on braids for me!!" Geez.
So i loved it so much that i pestered my mom to teach me when i was in primary school,
and yes! I have to admit i'm pretty good at tying this, hehe. :p
I wanted to take a video to show you how to do it if you are interested, but it's gonna take a while,
but coolbeans, i managed to find it off the internet, and used their pictures and edited some instructions in my own way,
hopefully to let you have a easier understanding on how to tie a french braid!
Check it out below, hope it helps babes!
*Reference from eHow.
and i really like these braid hairstyles! am gonna try them.
3. Loose curl hairstyles or Soft wavy hairstyles
- Both Loose and soft curls create just enough volume to glam up the simplest hairstyle while not creating unnecessary heaviness as it might be with curly hairstyles.
4. Hair accessories
- One said the secret of using hair accessories to your advantage is the placement of it. The closer to the crown of your head you manage to place.
the greater the effect will be on so don't hesitate to use those accessories to glam up yourself or create sophisticated and stylish hairstyles!
That's all folks! My two cents worth!
Back to LB, we had our first outdoor shoot a few weeks back!
Eggcited, outfits were all prepped and check out the mad gorgeous self-created accessories by the team.
love the combination of the flowers on the hairband!
on the shoot set. Vel styling us!
This grass patch was full of insects as i remembered!!
Love the same red wedges!
and colours that rock my world.
GOODNIGHT WORLD.
