The father's day weekend was a pretty different one.
Leney, D (yes, a new character), hurhur and myself decided to go for a hiking trip out of the blue!
We wanted to be adventurous by wanting to walk from Macritchie to Bukit Timah but the guys were afraid that we will give up half way,
so we settled on Bukit Timah Natural Reserve instead for a start to be more practical.
Given that it was a Sunday, the parking area at the main Bukit Timah entrance was packed to the brim,
I was surprised by how a new line of cars can be formed in the middle of the row in between two rows of parked cars,
and well, its hard to explain the odd sight that i saw, but you can check it out sometime in the near future. It's coooool!
In the end, we had no choice but to check out the other side of the Natural Reserve and parked at Dairy Farm side which we began our hiking trip there!
Our plan didn't exactly materialize because we got lost and back to the same point after 30 minutes only,
and it wasn't much of a hike in the end.
I'm awaiting for the next to do a good planning and hopefully we can achieve a great sense of satisfaction at the end of the day!
But the amazing take away from this short hiking trip was that we discovered this picturesque place and spent a good 20 minutes enjoying the tranquility.
Doesn't look like Singapore right? Amazing!
And the other side of the hill. Beautiful!

Father's day was spent simple with the family over at Yum Cha @ Serangoon Gardens Country Club for a brunch.
I remember visiting yum cha years ago and left with disappointment with its quality of the buffet at the Chinatown outlet.
But this time round, I have to admit that I left Yum Cha Gardens feeling pretty satisfied and I'll probably go back again to try out more dishes!
On the way to the restaurant… and that's mommykins!
* Versatile casual electic blue layered top from FlymetoParis.
Love the decor of the place, the dynasty and wooden walls made the atmosphere a very authentic chinese one.
Thank goodness we didn't wait too long before we got a seat given that it was Father's day!
These were the three out of the many.
Har Gao – good, but was pretty standard as compared to most dimsum place.
Chicken feet, or phoenix claws, was mediocre in my opinion.
The spiciness kinda overpowered the sweetness which didn't make it as tasty as it should be.
Siew Mai- must order! It was big and juicy with a generous serving of prawns/meat in each.
Didnt manage to take pictures of all the dishes that I ordered,
but overall i would rate it a 3 out of 5 for now.

And to end of the entry, here's something that my colleague forwarded to us.
no other meanings, but this is really funny.
Not sure if it's a real life example but I do have a feeling that it is!! gosh.
Have a good weekend guys!
