Sigh! I am down with a high fever and virus infection since yesterday and am feeling so awful since then.
Slept the whole day but kept waking up to due to shivers and headaches, total boohoo!
Not sure if its some infection that I got from Hong Kong (hope not!!), and I seriously hope I get well before weekends.
Anyways, we explored a new dinner place on Apple's birthday celebration last week!
Apple and the rest of us are in fact, huge fans of crabs. So I went round asking if there's any place for good crabs apart from the usual Jumbo, no signboard,
and was recommended by my hair stylist, John to try out Roland Seafood Restaurant, which is known for their signature chilli crabs.
Apparently the owner is in fact, Roland, and John is friends with the son! heh.
On the way to the restaurant..
I can see hurhur is getting so used to me taking pictures everywhere i go!
The place might be a lil tricky to locate when you first saw the address as it is situated at the 6th storey of a multistorey carpark,
but the good thing is that you can't miss the signboard right outside before you are entering the carpark because of the iconic cartoon face of the boss with the huge words – Roland.
Another good thing is that It is located very near Parkway Mall, so it's not that hard to find the restaurant.
My first impression of the place was that it looks like a authentic chinese restaurant that is frequently used for wedding dinners and I'm quite sure they do wedding events as well.
We got down to ordering, and here are the peeks as well as the dishes that we decided after several recommendations!
Three of us deciding hard due to a great variety of food..
The four girls who were the earliest!
I'm sooo happy for vincey buddy and his new found love <3
Here comes the food!!
Scallops coated with Yam!
Gosh, now i'm literally craving for this upon looking at the picture cuz i remember this was soooooooo yummy!!
Love the crispiness of the outer part and the tenderness of the scallops, must try must try!
Tofu with seafood.
This is a pretty normal dish but I supposed we ordered cuz its a healthier dish with the tofu and cabbages, but its yummy as well.
Recommended if you like something delicious yet healthy.
Fried Squid.
Oooo you can find this in most chinese restaurants, and probably because i love this dish, I would say this is a must order too!
Here comes the mains!
Crabs with salted egg and yam.
Well, I thought it would the creamy salted egg kind but it's not, and some of us like this but some of us don't.
For me personally, I don't really like it because I prefer my crabs with creamy sauce and not a big fan of fried ones.
But the accompanying fried strips of yam/salted egg tasted good and can be pretty addictive after you munch a few alone!
The signature Chilli Crab.
This was good, very tasty and very generous servings of eggs with the sauce!
It's not as spicy as I though, and a lil more towards the sweet side.
i love scooping a handful of eggs together with the sauce and pour on my rice to eat everytime, yum yums!
And mun tous to dip in the chilli sauce!
Mango Pomelo dessert was awesome!!
I could make do with 3 more cups of this even!
And cuz it was apple's birthday…
Surprise!!!
Happy birthday my dearest! <3
I would say the overall experience was good, and food was delicious as well.
Just that it's priced a lil towards the high side, and per pax is prolly about $40 after service charge.
It's a nice place for family dinners, and if you are interested, here's the info:
