Birthday means full of eating,
and a high dosage of sweet stuff for a couple of days.
I was gladly overwhelmed by the sweet cakes from the friends and family,
and now i need to loseeee weight, so friends please help me by stuffing me with less food. :p
Here're some piccas for the past week!
Preparing to head out in my new mesh top dress from The Tinsel Rack.
Comes with a sash, but i kinda like to wear my belt outside the jacket.
Zihui gave me a lil surprise after my finance class. )
Wearing a new summer dress from The Tinsel Rack for the birthday lunch!
And the great thing about birthdays is you get to catch up with friends,
enjoy the time and talk about anything under the sun over an awesome meal.
Plus, you get to check out new places or visit your favourite places.
But well, we love to explore new places and here's one that the dear girls researched on,
and woohoo! It's great and extremely unique.
Read on to find out.
This cafe is called the .
Situated at a narrow street beside a Mosque at 35 Mayo Street and somewhere near The Verge (Shopping mall) at little india,
it is a small French & European casual cafe that one could miss it upon walking along the street.
The first amazing thing I stepped into the whole cafe was that,
it is opened and solely owned by ONE Indian chef,
As simple as it is, there is only him and another indian waiter who operate the business everyday.
Their last order was 2pm and they close at 3pm to take a short break before dinner,
and fortunately dear yalin called to request them to wait for us as we were running late.
Furnishing was simple, kinda on the monochrome theme,
but i kinda enjoyed looking at the antiques and the paintings hanging around.
it would have been better if there were soft music playing at the background to enjoy the delicacies,
and I am wondering how does the restaurant look at night..
The two dear girls that specially arranged this lunch for me! <3333
Linny love <3 and a tired looking me.
Hungry us waiting eagerly for our feast!
And finally the food is here!
Appetizer- Cheese Brie
SGD $12.90
This is definitely perfect for you if you are a cheese lover,
there is great abundance of cheese oozing out upon cutting it,
and the top layer is filled with a thin layer of crisps!
We love the sides- frozen fruits that came with this dish!
But i kinda thought it wasn't worth $12.90 for that small portion.
Appetizer- Foie Gras
I love love love Foie Gras,
I know its a sin to eat this, and kinda inhuman,
but it taste sooooooo goood.
Main- Lamb Shank
SGD $23.90 (if i didn't remember wrongly)
Introducing my favourite of the day, I love this lamb shank the most.
Comes in a huge portion, and drenched in a whole lot of rich brown sauce,
it tasted just as good as it looks.
The best part was their tender marinated meat, and they are definitely generous with this whole dish.
Main – Sliced Beef for the set lunch
SGD $16.50
This was good too, love the sauce and the pan fried crispy potatoes!
Main – Duck Confit
SGD $22.90
Yalin told me this was the recommended dish by many upon visiting the black sheep cafe,
but i thought it was a lil dry, probably it wasn't accompanied by any sauce.
The meat was tender and juicy though, and the rosti was an absolute great side dish as well.
Try this cafe if you are looking for a cosy lil french cafe without a pinch in the wallet.
