KOSE Junkisei Prime Range

Apart from the usual facials and pampering sessions we girls frequently go for,
it wouldn’t be beneficial if we don’t have a good set of skincare products to go along with it.

To think about it,
unlike some guys who just have to splash water on the face which will do the trick of keeping the face clean,
or are at the least concern of fine lines, wrinkles which people associate those with charisma and age, heh,
we girls are of the total opposite.

I bet you know that girls’ skin kinda age faster than the guys, or rather,
are more obvious as we move along.
Furthermore, the fine lines and wrinkles which once appear,
have literally little chance of disappearing by itself unless through aesthetic consultations or whatsoever.
I was warned about that for the longest time,
and was told that these fine lines and wrinkles which make us look much older than we are,
are a result of dry and dehydrated skin in fact.

Though make up might do wonders,
but I remember a make up artist once told me,
with uneven skin, fine lines, wrinkles and breakouts, make up still can’t totally cover those.
And in fact, you can actually see that the concealer, foundation sinks into the fine lines even after make up.
Definitely, with healthier and smoother skin,
adding on make up gives you the best optimal effect that turns head!

Sad to say,
I am having fine lines appearing under my eyes due to inadequate care for my skin.
Until the recent years whereby I start to apply eye cream,
and get the appropriate skin care products to ensure prevention of more.

I am sure you have heard multiple times that keeping your skin moisturize
is absolutely essential to prevent those lines and as well as to show a healthy skin that glows!

Given the need for most of us to hydrate our skin and keep it moisturize,
I was elated to be review the well-known Kose’s skin care range, Junkisei!

Prior to receiving this range of products,
I am already a customer of their black mask,
which helps for whitening and removing blackheads,
and I am swooned by it.
Bet you know Kose is well-known for its mask and facial products.

As you might guess,
Junkeisei is the range that specially catered to women who need hydrated skin
and keeping the skin soft and supple
.

Like I mentioned before,
I have dry skin but it gets really oily at the end of the day.
I am never a fan of those moisturizer that makes your face sticky after applying them,
because it tends to hinder the make up process, causing the make up to be patchy after that.

Glad to say,
I have been using the Junkisei range for two weeks and nope,
doesn’t have all those problems that I mentioned above!
What I like about it is that, after you apply the products,
the skin feels dewy and velvety,
but it gradually melts into the dry skin within seconds.
It feels non-sticky yet soft after that, if you get what I mean!

Here’re the products I would urge you to try out!

Junkisei Cleansing Oil, SGD $18.90

The step for good skin as told by many,
is to make sure you remove your make up well.

Don't ever go to bed with your make up on no matter how tired you are,
and these makeup are evil as they clog your pores and cause breakouts! :(

Junkisei Oil Cleaning (make up remover) came good use for me as it is really effective in helping me cleanse away those makeup,
especially water proof mascara!
I believe some of you girls might be concern about the oily texture of make up remover,
thinking that it makes your face uncomfortable,
but the thing about this product is that the oil will gradually turn cloudy and non-oily after it's in touch with water,
so no worries about the greasy texture on your face when you remove your make up with this!

Junkisei Prime Cream Wash,  SGD $13.90

This is the cleanser which removes bacterial and make up as well.
It is a creamy foam which helps to cleanse effectively
and making sure your face feels fresh after washing.

I love the smell of this and the cream texture,
making sure the creamy foam washes away the dirt well!

Junkisei Prime Lotion, $20.90

This is the lotion to apply after you cleanse your face,
and it’s a highly effective moisturizing lotion.
It actually acts similarly to a toner,
but I think this one is a must get too!

In fact, it helps to better absorb the next upcoming product to penetrate deeply into the skin,
hence creating double effect for moisturizing!

Junkisei Milky Lotion, $20.90

This would be the prominent moisturizing milking lotion of the Junkisei range,
it’s well sought after because one thing, I love the milky texture,
very smooth, nice smelling and the thing you don’t feel sticky after spreading it onto your face.
The skin feels soft and hydrated almost immediately.

Junkisei Prime Cream, $28.90

This is a small bottle but don’t underestimate its power!
It’s a perfect night cream.
I am sure you know the skin is at its peak absorption during night time when we sleep,
and hence, just by spreading a small amount over night,
I could literally and visibly see the hydrated skin first thing in the morning.
Love this!

Junkisei Prime Masks (4 sheets), $21.90

Mask is equally important, that’s what I feel.
When I always see those people with good and healthy skin,
I realized all of them will tell me the same thing,
they try to put a mask daily whenever they can.

I believe so,
because I personally tried doing mask for a period and a period for not doing as well,
there is definitely a difference!

These are the different products available at Kose’s counter right now,
and say hello to better and healthier skin with no make up!

I am loving this new range and would love you to try it out too!

Of Glorious Food

It's officially the end of the whole term, and if nothing goes wrong,
It should be time to look for a job for good.

Feeling a tad numb over everything that's happening right now,
seems like it has been a whole mad rush for the past few months, with low and high tides,
and I am kinda at the crossroads now.

I swear I haven had the most comfortable sleep for the longest time,
and seesh, it's extremely disturbing, trust me.
Waking up like almost 6 times within a two-hour interval nap which feels like five-hour instead whenever taken,
or waking up in the morning everyday with a heavy heart and mind is insane too.

Kay… nuff said. December would be the time to recuperate after my last paper on 1st december.

Amidst all the busy busy, we still all find time to gather for birthday gatherings,
and thank goodness for the usuals for keeping me sane, sane, sane!

I recently discovered an AWESOME korean BBQ place to dine in,
thanks to a friend as well as a reader who introduced this to me.
Korean fans, you have to, no… Must visit this place for Korean BBQ!
It's uber pocket-friendly, and definitely quality is there.
I mean, it should be given the fact that it's run by Koreans.

The phone number and address is there.

The name of the place is 2D1N Soju Bang,
and they have both Alacarte and Buffet Style.

Since its our dear girl, Yalin's birthday, we decided to go for the buffet one instead,
a time for us to eat till our hearts content and catch up like nobody's business. Heh.

The entrance and the settings.

Woohoo, love my retro romper from LB!

The sweetest lovebirds again. Teehee

Caleen, poor thing she has eye infection. But that's a cool degreed specs.

Our longggg table.

The food area.

You might think it looks small and probably choices are pretty little..

You are wrong! There were a wide array of different kinds of meat,
and I love their marinated ones!

Just starting…

Our "chef" for our table.

I must emphasize that this buffet is ultra worth it,
look at the different kinds of good food!

The happy girls

The  guys with their full-filled tummies. hee.

I bet you must be eager to find out the price of the buffet,
It's $23.50 for each pax, real worth it and you definitely absolutely have to try it.
But do make a booking before you go ya!

The only two drawbacks are that, please wear shorts/pants together with sandals/pumps etc,
that will allow you to move around conveniently.
The area that we were seated is literally flat on the ground with no compartment to place our legs,
so a couple of the girls had a hard time maneuver around.

And if you think pepper lunch stinks you,
hmmm, maybe you have to reconsider before going for this. oops :P

Current favourite romper!

We headed over to somewhere near for drinks,
and apparently Yalin brought us to this chillax place that has a countryside feel and i like it.

Will definitely go back for more drinks next time!

We all shared a cake from Rive Gauche for her,
and love the huge strawberries and the puff surrounding the cake.

wish wish wish..

Happy moment…

The girlies!

* * *

Something came as a surprise for me a week back,
and I am simply loving it..

FINALLY!
Been wanting to get one for the longest, and yes, though the trend might begin from Sex and the City,
but after owning one from MyLittleBow (thankyou!!), i seriously think every girl should get one too.

The name part represents you meaningfully, and I love it how we can customise the fonts, the colour (gold/silver),
or adding in any other designs to beautify this meaningful yet beautiful piece of work.
It's no doubt, versatile as well and i literally wear it almost with all outfits, love it to the max!

Did i mention they sell much cheaper than what you see in retail boutiques?
I would think this is one of the perfect gifts to get for your girlfriends or friends for occasions like Christmas,
having to say it, Christmas is coming peepos! :D

P.S: They need about a couple of weeks in adv to manufacture it, so do order early!

Poots has one too, and we are both simply loving it! <3

Here's another place that I am gonna share for Japanese food,
I'm a huge fan of japanese food, and i bet might be aware of this place already..

Remember the prominent jap restaurant at level 5 of Far east plaza called Wasabi Tei?

I bet you know its known for its snobbish and arrogant customer service,
but people go back there because of the quality of food and value of it.

For those who doesn't know, apparently he sold off wasabi tei to another owner,
and left without taking his restaurant name together,
so i think its in fact a good thing for the new owner since he already has a good base of customers already.

so the old owner relocated his jap business, and opened a new restaurant at 9 Mohamed Sultan Road,
and its known as Chikuwa Tei.
i got all up excited visiting there as i love the food previously at their small lil shop.

The place. Pretty spacious.

That Chef.

The familiar appetizer.

My favourite cod fish.

Salmon Sahimi ftw.

My hot dinner date, June.

prettayyyy

Random Happenings

Here I am at Starbucks, preparing for my finance test tomorrow.

Last paper is officially on the 1st December!
A tad later than the rest, cuz apparently many of my friends finish around mid November,
but I can't wait for that to come and to take a good break.

Have booked a trip to Chang Mai, and i'm going there on the 12th to 18th December,
hope the flood is recovering well for now.

Anyway, pardon if i take quite a while to get back to your emails.
Am really drained out at the end of the day,
but i will definitely get back to you!

There're more exciting things to blog about,
but let me get down to it after my exams, so stay tuned! :)

Here're some random happenings:

Caleen came all the way to my house to pass me a lil cute cup cake on my actual day. Aww!
Look at it, so pretty aint it?

Wore a Maxi from Pearlavish for a lunch date.

Had WII fun at Jarrold's ultra cosy place! Dress specially from Pearlavish too.

met up with selene on my actual birthday. had to do some work cuz I had a paper the very next day. :(

justin came over to have a lil chat as it was his birthday too.
Got him cakes from Fruits Paradize (did i mention they have darn delicious cakes?)
Thanks for popping over jus!

Headed over to KPO for early evening drinks!

Jus and leney left and I went back to Orchard Central to find my parents for a birthday dinner,
decided to try out Ootoya after hearing great reviews about it.

Taiwanary Day 5 – Jiu Fen

Some Fashion inspirations recently…

Love the bold shoulders jumpsuit from CherSamme, and my friends love it too. ;)

Another favourite item

I;m gonna do another update on Taiwan,
know it has been a while back, but I still have 2 days worth of pictures to share. :)

Here's a continuation from the previous entry,
and we finally reached Jiu Fen, and here's a picture entry. ;)

Our new friend from Taiwan, Irene. :)

The two new friends we met are absolute dears and drove us all the way up to jiu fen,
they even brought their doggies along!

So here's how jiu fen looks like in the evening around 5 plus.

Walking Nicole, the beautiful dog.

The two taiwanese friends.

View up from Jiu Fen.

The only road that leads up to here.

Yummy cuttlefish that you have to try!!

This was ice cream wrapped with peanuts in the popian skin, absolute heaven!

Happy girl :)

The streets of jiu fen

Here are a few specialties that you have to try there,
as recommended by their locals.

Fishball soup, but im not sure what is the red bowl of dish called, but its sinfully yummy.

Another must have in jiu fen.

it's like mua chee skin, wrapped in two flavours.
One cai po (saltish) and one in red bean (sweet).

We decided to try another place to  have dinner,
and the friends recommended us to go down to famous Miao Kou!

We were in search of the famous Tai Yan Bing,
and this was one of the famous shops that sell it.
But apparently, this is not the best Tai Yang Bing,
try this other chain called Li Yi Bing Dian.

Finally, we reached Ji Long Miao Kou.

If you find this place familiar, yes,
its the scene where Jay Chou filmed his Tui Hou MTV.

The unique fried oyster from Taiwan.

Spot Pao pao bing stall!

This is the pao pao bing.

If you go to taiwan, be sure to eat their Lu Rou Fan!
Extremely yummy an different from local one.

Smelly Tofu in Soup!!

And remember we initially took the railway there?
You can actually take a bus back to Xi Men Ding conveniently at a reasonable price.
Prefer bus rides than train rides in fact!

We went back to Xi Men Ding for our late night movie,
and went back to Apple's hotel to check out the wigs she bought!
Applepie checked out before the trip and told me the wigs there are cheap,
approximately about SGD $30 each.

As you can see, she bought one with the Ayumi Hamasaki style,
and one more with the china doll style. hahaha

A side about me

Sometimes, when I stepped back and hold on a for a while,
I would in fact, remember all the lil things that happened in my life,
and take the chance to re-appreciate every single event.

And it works.

It works for getting you all up energetic and encouraged for the day,
It works for letting you know that the previous bad day you had, or waking up not feeling good,
and that life's isn't that bad as you think when you are feeling at your worst moment.
It works for letting you feel that you've made life kinda fulfilling,
and that you want to make it even more fulfilling.
It works for reminding who are the important people around you,
those who keep you sane and looking forward to spending your precious time for the next decade & counting.

It works for me that I have lived 22 years and being able to experience what I never think I will,
and especially those that I worked for, putting in my 101% in it.
And in fact, letting me have to space to share here,
this blog has been one of the greatest things in all my years.

Not just a blog for leisure purposes for at least a good 5 years (oh yes, been blogging for 5 years and more.),
but a space for me to share all the happy, unfortunates, anger.. emotions,
a space that creates opportunities for me to meet great people from different levels,
a space that motivates me to learn more about what's going on around,
and see the evolvement of social media and how powerful it is,
a space that provides me to get in touch with endless knowledge through the chances, events, and people,
a space that trains me how to communicate better and develop myself,
a space that makes me think hard on reflections,
a space that has endless thankful reasons why it exists.

My blog has became my important another half of me,
a passion, something that I love, and love doing. :)
Not to mention, is my next best friend too.

Today is an entry on some highlights of what I've been through,
and what helped me to realise life's too short to be unfulfilled,
and to realise we need to reach for greater heights. ;)

*

This is me in my 22nd,
a girl just like everyone else, still in my undergrad years.

I always like keeping myself very busy, or rather, working.
Always think that people should ought to try out whatever for as long as we can before priorities and commitments set in.
Though at times, I would very much like to stop and put everything at the back to have some me-time,
feeling all drained and tired.
But when thinking of what you would get, the things that you will learn when you work than being idle,
that thought surpasses the idle one, which then keeps you moving forward.

I used to work a great deal of promoter jobs ever since I stepped out of secondary school when I was 16.
Remembered that O'levels ended on October, and I started working from November onwards.
Probably not a lot of people know this,
but yup, worked for BenQ, Siemens, Motorola promoter job and went trainings for sales,
stood long straight 10 hours working at either starhub, singtel or M1 shop and promoting mobile phones to get sales,
ensuring that targets are met (of course, commissions were earned) to report back to work.

When i was 17 and working as a promoter.

Used to be kinda introvert and scared when I was young in the primary/secondary school,
and this job trained me to better open up, speak up, and to take more initiatives especially when it was a sales job.
Didn't regret spending all weekends standing there from daylight to night, with aching feet at the end of the day,
because it opened many other lil doors,
made me know so much more friends with people around my age, or with people who are already at the last phase of uni life,
and let me meet my girlfriend, Applepie.

Amidst the constant part-time promoter job which I did since then,
I did other small lil events which are more inclined to sales as well.

Enrolled into Temasek Polytechnic Business and started school in May when I was 17,
the promoter job continued  and so five weekdays of school,
but the whole Saturday and Sunday would then be dedicated to the part time job from 11am to 9pm.

Gradually stopped when i was about 19, the second year of poly,
and finally stopped when I did my internship at Prudential during my course of study.

Internship at Prudential for 3 months.

And after 3 years, I graduated from TP during May 2008,
with a Diploma in Business, majoring in Marketing and Tourism.

Met angels during my poly life, and yes,
spot the familiar angels in my life now! :)

I would like to say that I tried keeping a balance during school life.
Participated in many schoolwide events like freshman camps for consecutive 3 years,
and started blogging at my old blog with bits and pieces of my daily life even since the start of poly.

Let me share a secret with you.

Did you know the first course I applied for during the application for polytechnic…
was actually Multimedia and Social Networks?

Hahaha, I know i might not look like that sort that sits behind doing all the programming etc,
(I mean, I am kinda literally behind the computer 24/7 everyday),
but yes It was, the application was successful by the way. :p

I attended the first week of school and decided that as much as I LOVE DESIGNING & ARTS (ok, I'll touch on this in a bit),
but I would prefer to take it as a passion/ interest than to fully go into that study, hence industry.
So I appealed to Business, and did marketing instead.
Which it was a good platform as you can explore your creativity, ideas,
and at the same time, exercise your designing and artistic skills. :p

And another best thing about having my blog is,
I can do whatever designing with the countless pictures I take whenever I go out! :D
Whenever i have the time,
instead of displaying my pictures one by one in the blog, I prefer to collage them in photoshop.

Through years of doing all these,
I'm quite confident to say that I'm better than an intermediate in photoshop, teehee,
not these works here, these are just some stuff i took from my old blog.
Definitely have no problems figuring out new stuff there nor understanding the functions.
Just let me know what you want, im quite sure I won't have issues figuring it out! :p

Love photoshopping the effect of photos too.

when i was taking a break from studying and when one of my projects in poly was on YAKUN.

Proud of this piece of work that I thought from scratch, for this module- Arts Appreciation.
Supposed to form something that is in between two things for a person to develop personal appreciation for arts,A
and only working with colourful papers and that was it.

What's next would probably be one of my proudest works!

I always have a thing for designing, drawing, whatever arts,
and on day my cousin (who is aware of my interests) just shoved me with a pair of PLAIN WHITE SHOES.

Just like this.

And then he gave me two pictures, the pair of shoes and a tube of black ink.
one picture was 2D, one was 3D, and he requested for me to draw them on the shoes.
Hmm, i thought that that was challenging, specially the 3D one,
but nevertheless, I gave it a shot.

Pardon for the liquid paper,
but i think i did good here drawing them on the shoes with my bare hands huh? :p
Even I myself was amazed at the end of it.

Anyway, after poly was one of the crossroads in life.
I was thinking hard if I should pursue a career with my diploma,
or further studies to a bachelor and if so, which university was I able to start my next phase in.

Therefore, I applied for the universities and in the meanwhile,
I went looking for a full time job for the long break in between,
and settled down in VOX events company as a full-timer.

Nice colleagues that i have met, and here was one of the events successfully carried out.

And fortunately, very fortunately, I was accepted by NUS Business School for a continuation of my studies,
and until now, I am very very thankful for this, and yup, i majored into finance, which I am currently pursuing.

Apart from studying,
i still think its important to explore other opportunities when there are.
So I continued taking up part time jobs and always trying to balance up the life as a student.

A recent experience.

From strangers to lovely friends, got to know Vel, Jie and Rach through the 2 half years stint at Bonitochico, now LoveBonito.
The yellow picture above is when i first started helping BC two years back.

And so blogging went pretty well, which i didn't expect to and am extremely grateful for . :)
During my uni life till date, I had great privileges to widen my social circle,
get to know different people from different businesses,
get to try out products, services and do reviews.

Met other friendly bloggers!

One of the highlights of blogging was to be in touch with Malaysia Airlines directly,
met up with people who flew all the way from KL down to Singapore.
Having the honour to be offered a complimentary air ticket to explore their flight and experience their services,
and have expenses paid for at the destination!

A delightful me!

And what was best is that I got to bring a friend,
and leney zhang was the lucky one to have her air ticket paid for too!
Look at how happy she was. ;p

Shortly after, another highlight of this year would this rare opportunity once again.
I was invited by the Singapore LG's PR team to participate in the LG campaign earlier this year.

It was a campaign to introduce a phone that wasn't in the local market yet,
and there was a competition ongoing which will determine 3 bloggers to be sent over to KOREA for a worldwide blogger seminar.
And so it was judged on creativity, innovation, ideas and comprehensiveness of content.
Click HERE to see the video that i filmed, somehow directed and thus, put together during the competition.
And HERE for the picturelog that i did too!

Really, really Lucky me, to have the chance to be one of the bloggers,
and Weeeeeeeeee! I was sent over to KOREA for 4 days, with all expenses paid for,
with the privilege of getting together with bloggers from all over the world, France, Sweden, Netherlands, Australia, Russia etc,
and attended the 2010 LG Global Blogger Workshop.

off we went.

The Singapore's representatives with Chang Moon, LG's Korea boss.

Me freezing..

At LG headquarters.

A toast from the Korea Boss.

An honour. :)
That's the cute LG PR Manager from Sweden sitting beside me btw. :p

Not just play, but we have work to do.

We had to get together in teams, with members from each country in each team,
and we had a half day group discussion to brainstorm ideas for another round of competition there.

And have another half day of presentation to the board and the whole group.

Guess what, out of 5 teams, WE WON!!
By having the most innovative and creative idea, YAY! :)

We had AMAZING RACE around Seoul, and this was my team. :)

School started when i came back from Korea,
and this was the last year of my undergraduate.

Decided to do an internship during the summer holidays in regards to my course of study- Finance,
and had an extremely fulfilling internship till July this year at a Swiss Bank.

Me at work!

My Mentor Ana.

My Hot-mama Colleague, Norizan,
who made this collage with her son for me to give me as a farewell gift on my last day.
Awww, really sweet and I miss them!

Other colleagues who are angels to me during my internship. Marian and Yizheng.

Ryan :)

Overlooking MBS during the 3 months was a splendid relaxing thing to do when taking short breaks.

The team that I was in <3

Fulfilling because I get to experience and see another part of work.

Great and awesome time, especially with the other intern, Felix from Germany. :)

And great times cuz i met a lot more other interns from all the universities, as well as other functions in the company,
like Deborah from HR, whom kept the interns united. :)

So, im back to school now, and am having the last few weeks of the semester.
Extreme hectic and stressed up period now,
but nonetheless, I bet we are all trained well from the numerous years of studies etc to tide us through this sem smoothly.

You have just read and got to know a part of my life,
and also, got to know me even better now.
There're a lot more to share, but for now, these will do the talking.

Hope you enjoyed the entry about yours truly. :)

P.S: I'm thinking of joining the Standard Chartered World's Coolest Intern , What do you think? ;)
