Vel’s Mafia & Taiwanary Day 4 (Part 2)- Dan Shui

I'm back folks!

Its a Sunday, and I feeling a bit of Monday Blues here. Boo!
Hope you guys aren't feeling this way,
because we shouldn't let this tiny bit of blues to spoil the remaining time of our previous weekend.

And why not let me share my BB-MM?
Which is a Bea's Breakfast for Motivational Monday. Hahahahahaha,

Let me share my own recipe for a breakfast I made last week!

I thought it looks yummy cuz of the strawberries,
and you can get this up within just minutes!

Its in fact very healthy food, (as recommended from my mother)
and its Strawberry Oat Meal with Flakes.
Apparently Oat is a very good source of fibre,
and girls, we should start eating it as meals because Oat helps dieting!
I researched and found this explanation for it…..

"Not only it is a delicious dish for breakfast,
it is also a dish that helps in reducing your hunger,
thereby helping you stick to your diet plan.
This is because the fiber in oats forms gels to fill up.
And it is these gels that delay the emptying of your stomach so that you don’t feel hungry quickly. "

Easy peasy, low cost and healthy,
you just need to get:
1. Instant Oatmeal from your usual NTUC, Cold Storage etc.
2. Whatever ingredients that you want to add into the oatmeal porridge.

To keep it as healthy as possible,
I added it my favourite strawberries
and also sweetened cornflakes to give it a slight sweet and crunchy taste!

My first time at MBS was actually attending Vel dear's 23rd Birthday at a HUGE SUITE!

It was absolutely awesome because there was a theme and everyone was extremely spontaneous about it.
Love themed parties and that's always the highlight of the gathering.

If you realised, the theme is MAFIAS and recalling the night,
I totally kudos to everyone for going all out for Vel.

Even Bryan too… this is hilarious.
Rach was asking Bryan to pose with me with the flowers on his hand,
and the black flower clip on his HAIR! :p

Look at how Mafia he went, (the tattoo stocking on the arm). Coolbeans.

Here's titus and lihui and….. fred's bag that i couldn't resist carrying it because it looks too unique.

The birthday specs!

Doing the Lovebonito poses! hahahaha

Here comes cake cutting session…

We had cups with our own names.

Uncle and Auntie was totally spontaneous too!

And we tried out the new camera of Rach!
Look at how it captures all of us.

Hope Vel had a blast that night,
and It was a fabulous party which i love every single bit of it! :)

I think I am kinda into TOGAS recently,
and unknowingly, I was browsing through my pictures and I was almost in different togas for different occasions.
But 3 words- I LOVE TOGAS!

White and black bandaged skirt which can be easily transformed into party outfit, or work outfit.
Just a blazer or cardigan on and you are perfect for work!

And my next favourite colour is actually RED.
My phone cover is red, room walls are red, and nails are red.
Try red it rocks! :p

Convertible dresses are also a favourite,
you can wear it in between lesser intervals and in many different kinds of way too!

i love the M-shaped black tube that comes with this piece,
Quality is definitely there, and off with some simple accessories and done!

If you were going to ask where did i get these lovely pieces,
these above 3 pieces are specially from The Design Closet!  :)

Here's Taiwan Day 4, and this entry marks the end of Day 4 too.

We visited Dan Shui for the next half of the day.
This place is like the end of the MRT stations, (something like Jurong Station).

We were greeted with different kind of view,
more towards the nature side with the sea and all,
and guess what?! I heard JAY CHOU has a cafe there!

But we only found out after when we got back,
and didn't have a chance to try it. :(

Without knowing what's actually good there,
except for the famous YU SONG (fish crackers) and Tie Dan (Iron eggs).
Got a map and decided to check out dan shui lao jie.

Woo, i love this kinda streets in Taiwan,
whereby you find a lot of small carts here and there,
and sometimes chance upon real unique stuff.

This ice cream stall has certainly great business.
Looking at the queue, we had one each too.

But it was disappointing!
Its not rich and creamy as the colour looks,
but more of plain soft ice with minimal flavour. :(
Apple told me we should try it at Ximending though.

Try this is you by-pass the stall, its pink guava and extremely thirst quenching!

They have Naraya too, but well, for Naraya, there's only one place- BANGKOK!

Chilled ones are awesome!

A big bulldog.

Spent a while shopping here for accessories!

Wee? Singapore's delight is here?
But nah, i don't like durians!

It was drizzling and we went to seek shelter at this exquisite looking dessert shop.

They have limited choices,
and it seems like each and every piece is made specially.
We tried these two:

Banana Chocolate Cake which was simply delicious!
Each thin layer of chocolate crepe has real rich chocolatey taste!

And an ice-cream crepe!

The night came shortly after,
and feeding on all the fried food for days,
we figured out its time to have some fishball soup.

and oh gosh, if you are going to dan shui, please visit this shop! <3

Poots needs to get sour plum back for her mom,
and this owner offered to take a picture for us out of sudden,
and then we realised straight away- he's using tourists (us) for marketing!

Bought a cheap but really cute umbrella.
Love it to bits.

The night market.

And after a long day of walking,
Poots concussed while we trained back to our hotel.

Stay tuned for the last couple of days of Taiwan! :)

Advertorial: Something exciting coming your way…

How are your weekends Folks?!

It’s the mid of September now and I can feel myself sinking in school and work!

I bet those who are schooling are going through the same thing,

or getting stressed at catching up with work,

especially when all the mid terms are up and coming.

Even for those who are working,

time after work and the weekends is precious,

and often you will be thinking what to do and plan ahead of time for relaxation and activities.

Just as you read all these,

I know there will be something to do that everyone will always enjoy.

Which is to….

WATCH A MOVIE!

Hahahaha, don’t kill me though I know it sounds like a really cliché activity,
I personally love, love, love, watching movies.
Not downloading, but literally going to the cinema is a joy for me in fact.

No matter how busy work can be, it’s a must to make time for movies.

Don’t you agree it’s one of the best forms of relaxation?
It could be an excuse to snuggle up to your date (teehee), or some alone (non-talking) me-time with yourself.

Simply put, there is no excuse to NOT catch an upcoming movie especially when it’s an interesting one!

You may or may not already know, but I am gonna share with you the latest movie that is talk of the town!

Charlie St. Cloud,

starring hot eye candy, Zac Efron!

Yesssss, Selene told me this before and she has been waiting to catch the movie once it’s out in the cinemas.
Being lucky, I caught its sneak preview last week!! :p

Actors/Actresses play quite a part when I am deciding whether to catch a movie,

And of course, needless to say, the plot plays another big part too.

Before anything,

wait a moment….

It’s ZAC EFRON we are talking about now!!

I would say this is quite a different type of movie for Zac Efron,

especially when we all know he got really famous during the “High School Musical” hype,

which was a success movie across all age groups though its intended audience was the teenagers.

Just as what people have been saying,
Zac Efron has evidently matured and is starting to garner a different audience
(which incidentally makes up a huge part of the movie-going crowd),
and Charlie St. Cloud is most definitely THE movie to prove this point!

Okay trust me,
I make sure I will not be a spoiler but here’s a mini synopsis of the movie so you get an idea what it is all about.
I am getting a tad excited myself typing this and I can’t wait for you to watch it and find out what happens in the end!

P.S: To the girls,

I think Zac Efron specially trained his body for this movie,

So be prepared to ogle at that very well-built hot torso!

Just in case you are wondering,
Charlie St. Cloud is also Zac Efron’s name in the show.

And I just found out that it is based on a Best-Selling Novel called “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud” (by Ben Sherwood).

From the title of this book,
I believe you are getting a slight hint of what the story is about,

Yes, to summarize in a sentence,

The story is about the choice Charlie St. Cloud has to make,
between keeping a promise he made to his brother, who died in a car accident, or going after the girl he loves.

And I know I know,

You must be thinking what promise when the brother is dead?!

That’s why you have to go and watch. :p

I was blown away by Zac Efron’s acting in this movie,
you could literally feel the grieve and sadness he was experiencing, over the loss of his little brother.

They were two very dear brothers who love sailing and did almost everything together.
Seeing how close-knit their family ties were certainly left me with much to think about after the show.

But what’s a movie with no romance?

There were some real romantic, intimate scenes in the movie of Zac Efron and the sailor-girl (the girl he likes)
and since I love romantic movies, I will give this one an extra point! Heh.

And to arouse your curiosity further,
they came very close to having an IMPOSSIBLE union…
But that I shall leave you to explore for yourself. :p

Here are some stills from the movie to stir your interest!

You gotta watch the trailer if you haven’t a clue what to expect from the movie.
It has an exciting plot, definitely not one of those slow and “monotone” movies for there is an interesting twist at the end of the movie.

I bet you must be thinking about it right now,
but there’s really no need to.
Just catch Charlie St. Cloud’s sneak previews showing today and over this weekend (24 – 26 Sep, Fri – Sun)!

Wait, it doesn't stop here. Last but not least…

I have 5 sets of limited edition Charlie St. Cloud premiums (includes 1 ladies t-shirt and 1 poster) up for grabs!
Just “Like” and "Share" my blogpost on Facebook from the buttons below!
You can email your Name, Contact No, Age and a screenshot of your facebook page with your post shared to [email protected] for the mini contest! :)

Good luck!

Don’t miss Hollywood heartthrob Zac Efron in his new romantic movie – Charlie St. Cloud, opening in cinemas September 30, 2010!

Taiwanary Day 4 (Part 1) – Xi Men Ding

Wendys has one of the best baked potatoes around.
I never knew they sell the whole baked potatoes as side dishes and boy,
it comes in 4 different flavours and I tried 3 flavours before,
I must say it's real good!

A effortless classic simple blue dress with the unique designs at the hip and front area,
specially given by Pearlavish, just perfect for a Tuesday night in town.

Matched it with a pair of wedges to have a more casual outlook,
but by all means to wear a pair of heels and it would be just right for work.

Love dresses because they are easy and convenient to wear,
and usually a simple belt or necklace will do the trick of getting you more dressed up.

Did i tell you i love redddddd?
This dress has got to be one of the best buys at pearlavish too.

Manicure on a wednesday,
and I realised I can't stand the slightest defect on the nails and have been frequently getting my nails done.
Not a good sign, I would say…

* * *

As continued from Taiwan Day 3,
here's day 4 for us and it was a kinda different one because we actually went further from Taipei.

The usual spot for photos again.

A don't know why solemn looking Shawn.
Perhaps he waited for us too long to get ready, hahahaha,

I kinda like these two photos, very candid!!
Yes yes, shawn you are a good photographer.

Never fail to get a cup of Bubble tea to kick start the day.

If you are a fan of bubble tea, go to KOI and try their Hazelnut Milk Tea or Oolong Milk Tea, superb!

The graffiti man who got quite a huge pool of audiences watching at ximending.

We decided to treat ourselves to better food than street food on this very day,
and settled on this Tamago Ya, which is known as "DAN DAN WU"  restaurant right smack at the entrance of Ximen MRT exit.

Place looking posh and good.

Of course, what's a good place without photos? :p

our food, pastas and western.

I have to give two thumbs up for their quality of food!
Definitely a place where I would go again for lunch in future if i go back to Taiwan,
Surprisingly, prices are not that expensive there as well.

And here's a goodbye to this place and stay tuned for the next part of the day!

Post Supperclub Flea!

It has been a week since I have updated,
but school has been really tied this week! :(

I have a paper to sit tomorrow, and one the next day,
but I have an eventful weekends for the past two weeks which I am gonna blog about them soon!
And finally got my day 4 of taiwan trip pics ready and stay tuned for that too ;D

Last weekend was a different one because i had a FLEA at supperclub!
It was my first time holding a flea, and fortunately,
I have to thank TeeBoxx for providing a complimentary booth for myself to sell my gazillion pre-loved items.
But I got my lovely girlfriends to join in too,
and we had a booth full of as many items as a brick and motar shop might have.
Imagine how heavy it was to carry everything there :\

I was in the mood for geeky specs,
and something different to dress for the Flea-kend!

The comfy and super good material dress from which makes moving around easy,
and a simple pumps to match the outfit will do.
Versatile dress, I would say.
It was supposed to be a elegant dress but I thought it could be worn casual too.

The main entrance of our booth!

Our lunch, mc's nuggets, all time favourite.

Haslinda came to support us too! <3

Apple the awesome sales woman

Yalin is the next top sales person

The guys came to support too, and very helpful to help bring all our barangs to the club!!

Pretty Peggy was there too!
Great to see you once again, pegs!!

Koi for teabreak!

Playing with Caleen's camera in the random intervals…

We did make a profit at the end of the day,
but the girls made the whole day there a great one,
especially the hthts in between and time definitely zoomed that very day.

Do come visit us next time if we have a flea again!

I am off to head to bed after this, and guess what's upcoming to blog next?

heh, i had an awesome weekend and here's a peeeeeek.

Wore two new dresses by Almost Famous once again to this place for a stayover.
I am sure if you seen pictures around, you will know I went there again!
But this time round, it was with a different group and boy,
we took 1000 photos within a night!!

You absolutely have to see those photos, and I bet you are gonna laugh your head off.

I love this dress by AF.
Always in love with togas, and toga dresses are a plus point. :p
The material of this is superb and love that I do not have to put on much accessories and its good to go..

I brought along another outfit by them in due for the night plans,
and weeeeeee, love the colour of this piece and the design too.
I must say AF does have a great taste in clothes (well, at least for my preference, these few are my favourites of the lot!)

Just like the classic black, Nude dresses will never go wrong!

Everybody needs change – wemeanIT

It's time to reveal something about this website,
which I believe you might have already noticed,
or maybe you have not yet.

Changing to a new domain and a new blogging platform can be kinda complicated,
especially when I am absolutely familiar with blogging at livejournal for the past 4 years.

But its equally exciting when you know you have a new blog awaiting for you,
coupled with brand new customized designs and functions,
and getting used to writing at a new platform is just a matter of time, I'm sure.

And ain't it more rewarding that you will finally have a domain, a space of your own,
with whatever customization you wanna have to better fits your bloggin style and needs totally..
So one of my wishes was fulfilled and I am indeed thankful because..

this website is specially sponsored by wemeanIT.sg!

I was really thrilled about this when the IT guys first approached me at the start of year.
We have been working together since then,
from them understanding what are my blogging needs,
to personalizing solutions and suggestions for this brand new portal.

In fact, knowing that I have a lot of pictures in each entry,
I like the overall simplicity of the layout,
and not overloaded with too many things that will take the attention of the entries away.

And WAIT, it doesn't just stop here..
here're some stuff you might not notice as of yet and I am here to share them!

1. TAGS

And basically, my entries evolve around these main categories as for now.

The left side with the checkered boxes is actually shown inside my blogging account,
and these categories are in fact, all customizable to what you need,
in which you can name it whatever you want it to be too.

2. SIDE HEADERS

I know you probably know the first post is always the advertorials,
and from second post onwards, it's the blog (personal) post.

If you notice carefully, they are better defined with the side headers too,
and I love how the word fonts look at the side of the entry box. :)

3. ADVERTORIALS

Keeping to my old livejournal blogging style,
wemeanIT.sg actually customised this advertorial aspect for my domain,
and the best part is that, they provided me with really great suggestion,
which better enhanced the advertorials for you guys!

Check them out and you can see the effect of the movement of pictures,
definitely looking more professional than before.

4. PORTFOLIO (PHOTOGALLERY)

It is actually the same as photogallery,
but i named it portfolio as it will be more on lil bits and pieces of my past experiences instead.

Being a person who loves to carry her camera around,
I bet you wouldn't know how many pictures,
or how much space my peeks occupy in my laptop/harddisc.

So similar to facebook,
there's a photogallery that can immediately bring you to view the pictures by entry/occasion!

Additionally, I love this part about it. (See Below)

You can simply just click on any picture,
and it will enlarge with a next button to view the other pictures too.

This is not the only effect of a photoalbum,
wemeanit.sg has a lot more choices for you to choose in terms of how you want your pictures to appear,
transit etc.

5. DATE, LIKES, COMMENTS, SIGNATURE, ICON@TAB

I guess you are already familiar with these,
and woohoo, I like the font and the way they look.
It's one of the customization function that wemeanit.sg did for me too. ;)

And guess what?!

I literally sign this on a piece of paper (not computer generated!!!),
and the IT guys actually helped to scan it into the computer.
They programmed it in a way that whenever a new entry is blogged,
it will auto appear at the bottom.
Teehee, coolios.

And if you look carefully again at your tab,
you can see the "b".

They did this as well, knowing that b represents the start of my name,
and making it seems more personalized. Woohoo!

6. COMMENTS

Just like the other blogging platform,
the way the comments are approved and replied are as simple as before.

To be frank, I think the commenting system is better here!
Whenever i get a notification, I can choose to reply at the entry,
or just logged into my account and reply from there.
Easy peasy.

7. TWITTER

I love love this placement of twitter,
the bird icon and the colours of it that fit the whole blog's feel.

Kudos to wemeanit.sg,
they made the twitter icon and tweets appearance very professional here!

The best thing about getting your own domain be it for personal or business,
Just two words- Customize and Control.
You can completely customize your online portal to your liking and your total needs,
and by having a whole space which you can personally have control over, without restrictions.

From work-related partners to friends,
I can say Wemeanit.sg definitely takes pride in their work and ensures that you get what you want.

Just like the name sounds,
they mean every single step that they do for you.
I felt awfully bad that i rang them up at random times,
or having them taking time out of their busy schedules to fit mine,
and thankful for these people that answer to each and my every enquiry,
providing personable service to me at the same time.

It's time to move…. for the better!  (yes, i've moved!)
It's your turn now. ;)
